Clinical Efficacy of Roxatidine Acetate in Peptic Ulcer Disease

Abstract
|
|
|
The clinial efficacy and safety of roxatidine acetate, a new histamine HZ-antagonist, were evaluated in 35 patients with peptic ulcer disease. They were treated with roxatidine 75mg, bid, up to the 6 weeks. The results were as follows:
1. The: symptomatic improvement was noted in 98.9% of patients after treatment.
2. Endoscopic examination after the treatment proved exellent efficacy; 86.7% of 15 gastric ulcer patients`and 100% of 20 duodenal ulcer patients were cured.
3. There were no significant side effects except one case of mild generalized skin rashes.
